Please advise - Bedroom has 2 wall lights, 2 indi wall light S/W and a tripple S/W for respective wall lights and ceiling. Having removed Wall lights and x2 wall light S/W. Ceiling light now doesn't work.

I don't wish to leave old wiring in the wall in case someone drills through it, but it all getting a bit confusing. I assume I've broken the loop from the wall S/W but what do I need to join up and remake the circuit?
:?

Impossible to say from here how it is wired.

I suppose some pictures may help but you will need to test which wires come from the main light and which is the permanent live.

Do you have a mutimeter?

Many thanks for your reply.

Yep have a fluke. :)

I can tell you I've a 240V live link from wall light #1 and wall light #2 and it seems to finish at wall #2 S/W.

There are 2 all power sockets behind the bed, I'm thinking the power comes up from there to #1 S/W & wall light. across to#2 Wall light & S/W then back to the ceiling light S/W?

But I'm not sure and a complete domestic elect amateur, but OK with aircraft - previous life...

Well, in that case it sounds unlikely that what you have done would affect the main light.

Check if you have 240V at main light switch.

Thanks for your reply, You are quite correct.. I do not appear to have 240V on the main light S/W.

What's your theory Sir?

Can you check if there is 240V at ceiling light loop?

Also, was/is there a 'link wire' from the ceiling light switch to one of the other switches?

Umm, I'll get back to you, thanks again.

Can you give me a clue as to what's most likely happened here?

Difficult to say.

Probably whoever put in the wall lights has done something 'unusual'

I don't suppose the bulb in the ceiling light has blown or something has tripped has it? Do all the other lights work?

Can we have a picture of the triple switch wiring?

HOPE THESE IMAGES COME OUT.

Been scratching my head all day. Summary of findings:

Common on tripple s/w conchecks albeit 60 Ohms TO the 240V cables within the original 'Wall light' s/w wiring.

So why still no Volts at the tripple s/w?
A blue wire from L/H Wall light s/w cons to the Switched Blue L2 wire in the tripple S/W.

The light bulbs are OK.

I think i need a sparky.

Thanks for following me through today. :D
