We've got a single drive which we'd like to extend to a double. There is no path outside of our house, and from what I can see the kerb outside of our well shows as within our boundaries.

Does anyone know, if we want to extend the drive, would we need to seek planning permission of any kind?

I know we can pull down the wall without any permission, the sticky bit is whether we can remove the kerb, and increase access to our property as it would in theory reduce the amount of available parking in the street.

You cannot rely on the thick red line on a property map to identify the boundary down to the mm.

AFAIK any alteration to access to a public road requires approval from the relevant Highway Authority for that road.

The land may be yours but the highway will not be.
