removing a steel bath!!!

Rio

 Hi! Can anyone help please. I'm really frustrated I've got an old-fashioned rolled top iron or steel bath that needs replacing Trouble is I've got it out of the bathroom but I can't lift it down the stairs (even with three handy mates helping!!) Goodness knows how the bath got to the bathroom when the house was 1st built (1932) Must have been lifted through the roof!! I know a mate with a sledge hammer but is this the only answer!!!! Cheers Rio.

Yep!
Cover bath with dust sheets, and fill with old blankets (will help subduing the noise).
WEAR GOGGLES

very sharp edges as well, only needs to be cracked down the middle from side to side to split it in two, and then its easy enough to carry. i managed to gouge my leg on a piece once, very sharp!
