Removing brick to reveal beam configuration

Hi,

See photo. from right to left is a white concrete support beam, with a grey concrete face. My property is semi-detached; my neighbour's house is to the left of the brick stack, my house is to the right. I need to remove the brick circled so that I can see the concrete support beam. It's not clear whether that beam spans BOTH properties, or whether there are two distinct beams (one for each house) behind the brick.

To remove this brick, is it a straightforward enough job with low risk that even a relative DIY-layman such as myself could do? (note the grey concrete face does not run behind the brick, and fastened onto the concrete support beam directly)

I'm assuming drill the mortar around the bricks as deep as the brick itself with 6mm/7mm masonry drill (no hammer drill), then chisel it out further carefully?

The plan is sound, you won't cause any problems removing one individual brick, but be prepared to cause a bit of damage to the brick itself or one of the others around it, you might not, but it's a possibility.
In an ideal world you'd have a spare matching brick to hand, just in case.

Looks like a cavity wall. Drill a diagonal hole in the joint and poke around with a coat hanger. Or buy one of those £20 boroscope cameras from Amazon.
