Hi,

Anybody got a genius idea for easy removal of cable clips? We have moved into a property that was previously inhabited by the clinically Sky Television obsessed

We have cables running all over the house. There is a cable into every room, two in some rooms and five coming into the dinning room!

We have at least 500 cable clips to remove The only way to do it without damaging the brick seems to be mole grips and a good wiggle - but it'll take forever, especially up a ladder at second floor height!

All suggestions greatly received...

Maybe not how the purists would do it but this always works for me.
Use side cutters for removing clips. Approaching the clip from the "non-cable" side, pinch the cutter jaws between the mounting surface and the plastic clip until they contact the nail then twist the whole cutter sideways to roll out the nail.

I find that a Carpet Tack lifter works quite well, push it under the strapping where the nail goes through, ease it up then remove nail with pincers ,
Less than a fiver in a DIY Store.

A PITA job really.

This works on some of them...

Thanks

Will try this when I can find my tack lifer. Mind you, I'm struggling to lever them out with a claw hammer - our mortar is very hard!

Cheers
