I have a kitchen table and the tiles are old and outdated. I bought the table in another state so not sure who the manufacture is and I want to remove the tiles. I'm not sure how the tiles are held in place (glue, grout, other) I believe the tile grout is silicone. I'm not sure if I should break the tiles and try to scrape them out or take the silicone out first then try to remove them. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. sks

I'm assuming you want to re-tile this table with different tiles here. Chisel the tiles off, then scrape off any adhesive.

yes, I want to retile. Thanks for your input. I'm just trying to work enough courage to break the tiles. SkS

The tiles are recessed the depth of the tile.

That's fine then.
You really want to be using an epoxy grout for this application, so speak to your tile supplier and see what he recommends. Epoxy is tricky to apply so do a small area at a time.
Good luck.
