Renovating an old house

I've no experience of costing for this work, but doing a quick search on rendering costs and knowing that rendering is a two coat process but your requirement is for a scratch coat only, it seems prudent to assume that a cost will be half of the rendering cost.

Bearing in mind that this post is 4 years old:

The £30 quoted is for rendering, so it seems safe to assume that a scratch coat would have been about £15 /M² 4 years ago.

Assuming something like a 4% rate of inflation would give an uptodate cost of about £17.50/M²
Material cost is minimal per metre².
I would guess a bag of cement would do something like 20M². Similarly a bag of lime. 5 litres of waterproofer, probably about 50M², may have guidance on the container.

So cement about £6.50 per bag, thus .32 p per M².
Lime sligtly more expensive, 50p per M²
Sand, 10p
Waterproofer 15p

Total labour and materials approx £18.50/M²
