During the hot weather last year (remember it?) , our waterbutt stand sank into the tarmac and basically cut into it (a bit lke a giant pastry cutter!).

We've moved the waterbutt now and have it on a slab to spread the weight however we're left with a patch of tarmac that has a nice circle cut into it, about an inch deep.

Now, during the rain this year we're getting a leak into the garage, the other side of the wall where the tarmac is damaged.

I think the rain water may be going down into the cut and coming back up under the wall.

Is there anything available that could fill the cut in the tarmac? Someone mentioned Thomson's Emergency Roof fix (which is applied with a trowel) - would this work? Or is there some better way?

thanks

You can buy bags of tarmac for repair purposes, from most builders merchants. Even B&Q/Wickes might have them.

Alternatively find some roadworks in your area and approach the guys with a bucket and a smile? A multipack of mars bars or 6 pack of coke would be a good bribe.

I suspect your leaking might be caused by other issues. Does the tarmac go right up against the garage wall?

Thanks for the replies. Yep, the tarmac does go right up to the wall, it seems to slope upwards onto the wall. Could this be the problem?
