Hi all, i have a honeywell room stat as outlined in the picture, it has given loyal service since 1986 and still for that matter works, however i was thinking of replacing it with one of the new honeywell t6360 room stats, as the one i have is slightly higher from the floor than it should be and i would also like to chase the cables into the wall and give an altogether more pleasing appearance , there is one thing i cannot quite understand though, as mentioned earlier it works fine cuts in and out fine no issues,
i have taken the face plate off, and number one terminal is indeed the live feed from the programmer, number 3 being the switched live, this i have ascertained from a mains tester, but another terminal is also showing up a current when the system is calling for heat, so in affect i have three wires that are lighting up the screwdriver can someone explain regards dave

Using a neon for this type of job is ridiculous.

Plus the info you need is displayed on the back of the facia panel you have removed

I thought Honeywell maintained continuity on the connections through the years? I replaced my old (antique) roomstat, (Honeywell with the sliding plastic lever at the bottom) for a T6360B and i'm sure the connections were exactly the same.
