With all this Part P stuff flying around can someone help me with the following because I am a diy'er but consider myself competent enough to do simple electricty tasks:
I want to replace the extractor fan in my kitchen. There is a FCU above the kitchen wall cabinet next to where I want to put the new one and this is on the main circuit. Can I make the connection? Do I need to notify LABC? Do I need a qualified electrician to do it? Is it better to change the FCU to a socket and plug the extractor in? If I can change it, is it okay to have a socket above the wall cabinet?
I'm looking to do this properly so any good advice would be appreciated.
