Replacing Boiler with no possible Flue location

Asking for a friend, so I may be a bit sketchy on details, however....

A friend needs their boiler replacing. They live in a converted old-building (split into several smaller units) and, whilst their old flue-location was compliant when the old boiler was fitted, it isn't any more.

Not only that, but the installer has said that they can't find any practical legal location anywhere within their house.

Assuming they aren't the first person this has ever happened to, what sort of options do they have now ? As far as I know, the installer hasn't suggested any yet.

It's kind of into a small enclosed downstairs back yard. No photos just yet, I'm afraid.

OK if you can get some pictures that'd be great - impossible to advise on this without being able to see it I'm afraid

Only once have I been beaten on flue locations. And then it was more down to cost and disruption than it was legality.
