I want to remove a double glazing module (from the side of my front door) and replace it with a solid UPVC panel and cut it out for a cat flap.

I'm unsure what I'm asking for (and where) to buy the replacement panel. Obviously I don't want to have to buy an 8x4 sheet of something! I assume I need to know how 'thick' the double glazing module is too. It's much thinner than the big windows elsewhere in the house... doesn't help I know :-)

Any pointers appreciated!

A local uPVC windo manufacturer should be able to sort you out with an infill panel but they will want to know the glass unit thickness as the rubber gaskets will not fit, either too tight or too loose.

Have you considered measuring the glass size, going to a glazier and getting a replacement double glazed unit with a square hole for the cat flap? It is possible to do in glass.

and keep the glass safe for when your little friend moves home or goes to do moon walks with michael

Cheers...

It's just the small glass panel at the bottom of a door side-panel so it's not worth doing it in glass. There won't be much glass left.

I will need to make a temporary extraction to measure it properly then.

Cheers :)
