Replacing freezer compartment door on a Zanussi fridge?

Flimsy plastic handle has broken off and like a muppet I've bought an entire new door not realising you can replace the handle!

Oh well. So how do you disengage the top and bottom door pegs from the hinges? By brute force or is there a technique?
