Replacing recessed downlighters

L

Leofric

I have two recessed downlighters in my first floor ensuite which I never was keen on as it is not a good idea to have holes in the ceiling below the roof space and insulation has to be kept clear of the lights . Can anybody advise on replacing the lights with ceiling mounted batten lights. The downlighters use screw in R80 spotlight bulbs .

Not sure how big your holes are, I'll guess they are 140mm or so diameter?

Best bet is to buy a couple of ceiling surface lights. Screw a piece of wood across the inside of the hole, so the new lights have something to screw on to.

There are a million different styles to choose from., something like this, maybe?
