If, while composing a reply I decide to use italics, bold, underling or perhaps colour, when I highlight the chosen text and click on the instruction it just doesn't happen. Hopefully the problem will show in this post when I try to do each of the above in turn.
Perhaps it is something that I am doing but I have attempted to use italics on 'italic'; bold on 'bold'; underline on 'underlining' and red on 'colour'.
Can someone help please?

You need to make sure the square brackets surround the word(s) you wish to pick out, as I have above.

I was using Firefox and they didn't work there. This is IE..
