hi we baught a property and want to change location of boiler. I was also planing on getting all the

1) the boiler man said we should change the 10mm radioactive pipes?
2) given the house is stripped and we are changing all the radiators, should I just give the boiler man the centres of the radiator pipes? So we can tile and paint behind?
3) I was told that I don't really need to purchase the toilets basins baths yet. It's best to let the boiler man do his stuff and then buy them and call him back. It was mentioned that I should buy shower base however initially so the boiler man can put these in. Make sense?

If the house is stripped, do EVERYTHING. Pipes, rads, boiler. We are doing this now. All new copper, new boiler, new rads. Plumber will usually come back to second fix the rads after plastering and commission the boiler. Though decorating is usually done by removing individual radiators while the system is full. Have a tub of inhibitor ready to top up the system when you replace the rads.

Thanks. So we can leave rads out for second fix. And what about showerbase, toilets and basin?

I would have an idea of the type of radiators you want, so that the plumber can have the pipes correctly lined up in the wall. Also some rads can only be connected one way around and there doesn't seem to be a convention on which is the flow side or the return side.

I never understood why, plumbers install radiators on bare plastered walls which then have to be removed for painting.

Ok. If I provide the manual for the rads to the plumber it should be ok. What about ceramics and shower base. Should I save this for the second fix?

In my own experience is best to choose this stuff asap, otherwise your choices can be limited.

Put it this way. In our project, a full empty house refurb, we had all the rads and the whole bathroom suite delivered prior to the plumber and plasterer starting work.
