What ho one and all,

I have a Accenta mini Gen4 and Reson8 Bell Box. All works just fine but....!

Recently noticed after the exit beeps, when the strobe should flash a few time, it does not. It used to do so. My guess is the strobe tube needs replacing. Is it worht doing so or just buying a Reson 8 replacement?

Secondly, to the best of my knowledge, the sounder has never needed to use the backup NiCad battery. But it is 15 years old. Should it be replaced or not?

Thanks and toodle pip

Try an activating the alarm and let it ring for a minute as strobes need to build up a charge ….if it still doesn’t work replace the whole unit

Thanks for your reply. I don't know if the strobe works when the alarm is ringing, but it used to give a couple of flashes at the end of the exit count-down.
Regarding it not working, the flash is so weak that behind the blue plastic, it has always been virtually nothing.

Couple of extra questions. Have been researching for a replacement Reson8 bell box and seems difficult to find these days. Would another make be compatible with the power requirements?

In the control panel instructions, I can apparently opt to test the various items, (walk test, sounder, strobe) But pressing the up button or selecting 2 (strobe) does not show strobe but Fire. Seems there is no Strobe option, which I know not to be the case as when I set it up 15 years ago, everything was working.

How can I get the strobe test back again?

Thanks

Thanks for the link. As it happens, I did buy a new (albeit now discontinued) Reson 8 bell box, installed it and it made no difference. So took a chance on a newish Accenta Gen 4 Mini from an eBay seller.

Installed it went through all the resetting process and, with the original bell box, all is now working as it should.

Yes, but my system only has seven PIR sensors plus an additional RKP in the garage. So not really too complex. Also added something that I should have installed when originally installed 15 years ago, an internal sound bomb.

With a well insulated, tripe glazed house, once inside, it is close to impossible to hear the external sound ringing. An internal sounder makes so much ear splitting noise, that no-one really wants to be near it. It is not in the ideal location but nevertheless, makes one hell of a racket.
