Or, you could use the double insulted plastic insulated equivalent,
since "Single Insulated" flexible cable is no longer permitted for 230 V applications.

Such "Single Insulated" conductors are now termed "Speaker Wire" (i.e. suitable only for Extra Low Voltage applications.)

The problem is you need some kind of enclosure around the „choc block“ connector that joins all the wires from the individual arms together. The tape isn‘t enough.

I don’t specifically know about the UK but H03Vh-H is still harmonised for mains voltage (300 V), if very uncommon in Europe.
