Tonight for no apparent reason we can't change channel on the TV down stairs with the sky remote, theres no light on the magic eye and even plugging it in direct into the RF2 outlet produces no light.

Does this mean I need a new Sky box??

I have taken out the power lead from the box, waited 2 mins, plugged it in again and re-energised the RF2 outlet but to no avail........... I can feel some expence coming on...................

I guess what I'm asking is can it be mended or do I throw it away and start again??

are you still under contract with sky!!

wait untill you tried the setup with a new box to rule out other possibilitys

New sky box £20 on ebay - fitters who remove them to fit HD and sky+ boxes.

And magic eye is £10 if that. Dont buy from Currys, it'll be £30 there.

1) check the Sky box menus to make sure that the 9V power is still switched on for RF2 Out - or better still, use a multimeter to measure the voltage

2) If both the above are OK then try a new Sky eye

3) Replacing the box should be last option
