Is it legal to carry out my own Landlord Safety checks on my own very extensive property portfolio??

I have just done the brakes on my bugatti veyron so cant see any reason why you cant do a gas cert on your ex council flat errr sorry extensive property portfolio. ;)

As long as you are gas safe registered and have the right qualifications then it is fine.

Assuming your property portfolio is a drole comment.

Yes, I do but when I took my ACS last time the instructor told me he gets someone else to do it because he is aware of the possible conflict of interest.

With regard to your knowledge of the gas industry I would have someone else carry out the works. ;)

There does not seem to be any legal reason not to.

But there is a clear conflict of interest!

If anything went wrong it would not help that you had done it yourself!

Surely one would be more diligent on their own property Tony?
But yes, I thought it would be a conflict of interest & wondered if any other RGIs had property they Let out & what reaction they get from their LA?

I'm not too sure if it's the same in other parts of the UK? But here in Scotland all Private Landlords need to register their property.
Thanks Tony.
