rodding query

I'm just laying some new drains,and I have notified building control,there are two chambers,the 250mm Osma kind,and I was wondering about the practicality of rodding such a small chamber-nothing was said by the b.c. officer-is there meant to be a seperate rodding eye connected to one of the side branches on the chamber-I have a feeling I've seen it done like that.Bit out of my comfort zone!

the larger the chamber the deeper they can go - simple.

small diameter chambers (300mm) are for shallow access only.

i would suggest a maximum of 450-500mm depth for small chambers.

450mm wide chambers - 500-1000mm depth.

The idea is that most blockages will occur at a junction or bend.

If there is a 'normal' manhole in the neighbours garden or nearby, then you don't really need a big on in your garden.

The other consideration is how many times have you actually had to deal with a blockage in your drains?
