Roof Arial extension

Hi all,

As im getting ready for the amazing "digital switch over" , i need to have a good reception in my bedroom and my bedroom is on the ground floor.

I want to extend from the arial which is in the outside of the house and run a feed into the bedroom for my new LCD TV.

How do i do this and is this possible without replacing the arial??

yes, but you would probably be better off taking the existing cable into say the loft, fitting an aerial amplifier and taking a co ax from here to all tvs

Thanks for that.

Problem is how my arial runs and also i've spent six months last year gutting the house and re-doing it so wall bashing is off my agenda.

Is it possible to run direct from the arial?

If your signal strength is really high, you might get away with a passive splitter but 6.5dB is a LOT of signal to lose!

More likely, you'll need to use a masthead amplifier. See wiring examples here:
