Roof/Gutter Downpipe Blocked

I had put in a post asking advice on my leaking downpipe. I have since worked out that water is leaking out of the joint in the downpipe (6 feet from ground) because the downpipe is blocked at the bottom (below ground level).

Can anybody give me advice, preferably on their own experience in unblocking this. Thank you.

Shove some stiff wire in and wiggle it about a bit, that should do the trick

You obviously need to unblock the drain or gulley and it may be a case of putting a marigold on, or calling out a drain jetter

If the the blockage is in the downpipe, then you need to disconnect it to get to the bottom or cut the pipe and then after sorting it out reconnect with a connector joint
