OP,
Unless you are bonding like for like then its best practice to use a bonding gutter.
The Ludlow & the Redlands might appear to have bonded but give it a bit of time and the join will probably leak.
FWIW: there's more to bonding a roof than just installing a bonding gutter.

Looking at lap layout/dims they seem just about compatible and may cause less problems that fitting a bonding gutter and more aesthetically pleasing?

OP,
The Ludlow & the Redland are not compatible:
Their dimensions are different.
Plus the Redland has a camber.
Joining roof covers on the same plane requires taking care and time to do a correct job while giving attention to details.
Or else you might be clambering on the roof doing remedial repairs for many years to come plus the irregular join maybe red flagged by a future mortgage surveyor.

I would do my own check with Marley's technical chaps and unless they confirm it's fine get your man back to the job right.

Thank you for your email. Marley always recommend the use of a bonding gutter where two different tile profiles are being used within a roof. We are unable to guarantee that the join between Marley and Redland tiles will be weathertight.
But Redland said this is a common practice should be o.k
And solicitor says i just have to wait and see if it leaks before i can take legal action

Tha to me is the answer: the supplier of the new tiles won't guarentee the joint so you are at risk. This needs sorted now

the channels are different and a Marley Ludlow plus is dead flat and a 49 does have a camber from top to bottom .. but if it's a full line from bottom to top of the roof and not a mix . you might get away with it .
both are still available
