Do i need an electrician or a heating engineer and can anyone tell what i would expect to pay for the job...

Get a heating engineer has he/she will have a better understanding of the boiler connections.

All depends if you are wanting wired or wireless.

Obviously wireless is less work and depending on which one you go for and the commissioning involved I would personnally charge £80-£100 + vat labour.

Wired would really depend in what was involved in running a cable.

Did you have a particular thermostat in mind?
