I would replace the sleepers, they are relatively cheap and complement the existing design. And get rid of that overflying end fence panel, it gets windy in March
Thanks for the reply’s. They are rotten here and there all the way round the patio, that part is the worst. I don’t think previous owner installed it properly/ just backs onto soil….no drainage/ gravel etc.. It isn’t a full retaining wall, as when you pull away the rotten timber soil is impacted under patio.
The 200x 100 cross timbers might be a diy job…. But unfortunately those 200x 200 posts that are spaced out are above my pay grade to tackle/ are cut out also so isn’t the best for diy tackling I think
Think best option is get somebody round, with best/ well cheapest option change like for like but install properly???
I'd advise replacing them with plain wood rather than painted. Teak oil will protect them better. The top step has sunk at one side as it is, so replacing using a dpc to help guard against water damage would be a better option.
