I posted on hear about a year ago, regarding removing a stubborn indice cap from a tap and unfortunately nothing suggested worked (was probably more to do with me than the advice!!).

Sitting on the throne yesterday (apologies for that image) I had a eureka moment when i realised that the capstan arms could be removed, and the cap pushed up from underneath....only to find a corroded screwhead which I then proceeded to round off.

Would I be wasting my time / money with one of these??

If that works, does anyone know what type of screw i'd need to get as a replacement?

New basin tap doesn't cost that much, not worth all the frustration.
