Hi all I would like to buy a router for diy projects, any suggestions please.
I have searched the forum but replied seen to be quite old so looking for more up to date suggestions.
Thanks

Doing what?

I cut hinges out and edged shelves with a cheap ¼ inch router. All I ever needed

Worktops you need a fast ½ inch

Start with a corded 1/4” router, which should cover most of your projects. Trend dewalt or Makita, all the main brands do decent routers. A cordless router for trimming and a half inch router for heavier duty work can follow. Festool do a cross over router but it is incredibly expensive
