Hi looking for advice. I have a Bosch POF 1400 router and was thinking about making a cheap table for it. I have a piece of 40mm worktop would this be OK for making the table top? I thought if I cut it to size and fix a hardwood trim around it I could buy an insert, Kreg probably, and route out a rebate for it then fit the whole lot onto a beefed up kitchen cabinet or something similar ? For a fence I could just use a straight edge and a couple of clamps.

Yes it will do, but do check that it isn't cupped across the width to start with - worktop material has a temndency to cup because being laminated on only one side it is out of balance. If it isn't and is fairly new then seal the bottom face with something like old gloss paint to prevent future cupping
