Dont drop your shopping love.
I'm not British.

And name ONE person who has tourist themselves to the UK to see the royal family? If we didnt have them I doubt the tourist industry would miss them.

you're not British? but you state you're from Suffolk !!

I'm not British.

And neither am I... but I have always said that If I was unhappy with Britain, then I would go home.

Britain may not be the workshop of the world any more but it has so much to offer to bring in revenue... It's history and heritage of which the Royal Family are part is a huge part of Britains future success

You may be right fella, its hard to be unhappy with every aspect of any one country and England isnt too bad but its got some serious issues and attitudes that it need to be addressed. When the entire country is facing economic disaster , people/family's are losing their homes, we have got the royal family , who I might add are public servants , lashing it up with a big fancy expensive wedding. Not very tactful is it? Or could they just not give a toss?

Because if they are a tourist attraction then they really need to get their lazy a**es up off their free couch and start doing some productive WORK for a change.

Well If bringing in lots of lovely foreign currency isn't work then I don't know what is...... They may not be swinging on a spanner or building a garden wall but it is work and they are pretty good at it

See thats the thing , I dont really understand how they can, they sell the odd commemorative mug but I dont see them being directly involved in the tourist industry. Do you?

The British are at their best when it's all going tits up.... If everything was going swimmingly then they get bored.... We are always facing some kind of economic disaster and I think that the recession of the eighties was much worse..... People are losing their homes because they have overstretched their line of credit and have used their homes as banks rather than homes, it was always going to go pear shaped sooner or later... In a few years time it will all happen again as the next generation forgets the lessons learned during this recession just as many forgot the lessons of the eighties, they will pick themselves up, dust themselves off and start again and be no worse off for their lesson, Economics 101 (The hard way)

I live in Suffolk , I never said I was born there.
capiche?

where were you born?

Not in Britain fella. :D

well we know that.. and you're here for the free ride !!!! you should be ashamed !!

Yes , i've been rumbled. I get around 14 different benefits, i've got 15 kids and me , my 3 wives , my 15 kids and about 30 members of our immediate family all live in a council house in hackney.
You really saw through my clever disguise of a bloke doing up an old house with his girlfriend in Suffolk didnt you?

Thats just one of the issues that needs sorting right there. Thats like a built in self destruct mechanism, not good.
Im usually at my best when things are going well, or when i'm very drunk.

well i tell you what, i retract my flippant statement, and apologise for that.

but you could do with being honest about who you are and apologise for your hugely insulting "gay bloke" jibe to someone you don't even know..

are you here for real or for the crack !?

Well it's not really about the mugs and plates, it's about the coming and being at an event that no one in the world can do better that the Brits, it's about the history, the glitz, the glamour and the style that comes with the Royals... And with all this comes the fact that all of the visitors have to stay somewhere, then they will spend a few days shopping, car hire and perhaps a few trips out to see the rest of the country, the cotswolds perhaps or maybe to Stratford.... It all brings us cash but it was triggered by the wedding..... If we're nice to them perhaps they will come back and visit the rest of the UK, a bit of Golf in Scotland, stunning and fasinating Wales... The possibillities are endless.... Oh and I'm told that Britain is better for shopping than Italy or France as we have a wider selection of fasions from around the world.... It ain't just about a few tacky mugs

I STILL DONT SEE IT (CAPS LOCK IS BROKEN) , SURELY BIG BEN WOULD BRING IN MORE TOURISTS THAN THE ROYALS, I MEAN HOW MANY PEOPLE COME TO VISIT LONDON EACH YEAR COMPARED TO THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WHO COME TO SEE THE RATHER ILLUSIVE ROYAL FAMILY? I HAVE LIVED HERE GOING ON 20 YEARS, A LOT OF THAT WAS LIVING IN LONDON AND I HAVE YET TO SEE ANY OF THEM.
