Hi all,

We have this rubber roof which was installed several years ago and as you can see the side is starting to come away. The guy who installed it has now retired so can't help and I've tried to put a acrew in it myself to hold it in place but no matter what length or size of screw I use I can't seem to get it gripping onto anything behind it.
I'm very reluctant to take the whole of the side off but what can anyone suggest I do please

Kind regards mark

You might be trying to screw into insulation.

It looks like capped nails have been used, maybe see if you can pull it off, clean behind and put it back on again.

Might need a small nail puller and bit of wood to lever against.

i think your wire mesh may be defeating the object. the collection of so many leaves won't help anything when soaked in water. As Deluks says clean all the other debris from behind it at the same time and seal it once refitted

They’re normally polytop ring shank nails which are hard to get out. Unfortunately the whole thing doesn’t look like it’s been done great, and that edge trim is meant to be sealed tight down onto the rubber, to stop water getting down onto the (presumably) wooden board behind it. Which hopefully isn’t rotten as a result. Might be worth a decent check of the whole thing and expect to take stuff apart to fix properly
