Running a new water main please help with freezing existing

If it's really old pipe, especially if you live in an area where the water tends to eat at the pipes a bit, beware the dreaded freeze-induced pipe rupture. It's quite exciting and leads to all kinds of fun and games if you've got nowhere downstream where you can switch off

Thanks everyone worked a treat and I now have 2 mains isolation valves and all of the old pipe work in the floor is dead. Just need to re-run hot and cold to the kitchen and hot and cold to upstairs shower room which for some reason leaves the ground floor in 15mm and converts to 1/2" iron upstairs

Thanks everyone
