I'm building a garage and would like to have hot water in it so I can wash my dogs in it instead of in the house, is it possible to run hot water out to the garage the same way as you would cold water, I.e. Connecting into the hot and cold water in the kitchen.

not a problem, just find the closest/easiest route to tee in to and lag the pipe might be an idea to fit a thermostatic blending valve though.
Did this recently for some friends and their hound.
Just got a thermostatic bar shower inside the garage, then put this through the wall:

With a hose union and appropriate back flow prevention device and they now have a warm hound.
