Hi guys and galls,

I want connect an external remote switch to control my boiler, I assume I would connect into the RX1 controller, I wish to keep the wireless room thermostat but don't wish to control the on/ off status of the boiler from this.
Thanks for your time in replying.

Can you give a bit more info , type of boiler? what exactly do you mean by "don't want to control boiler status on RF stat"? surely that is the whole point of the room stat - to stop the boiler when there is no demand? :?

Thanks guys, the boiler is a Valiant Eco tec plus 824 and I would like to keep the room stat set at say 20 degrees and then be able to switch the boiler on or off from another room. I prefer not to use timeclocks at all.

I have no idea what an RX1 thermostat is.

However this doesnt really matter. If i understand your incredibly vague posting (!), you want to use the on/off switch in place of a timeclock.

Therefore you can take the wire out of terminal 4 of the boiler and wire a switch between the loose wire and terminal 4. Job done.

Don't fit Danfoss stuff, Dan, I'm a Honeywell network installer!

The RX1 thing will switch across 3 and 4, the OP wants to turn it off regardless of thermostat demand when they desire, so the 3-4 link needs to be broken. It is better to recommend breaking circuit @ 4 in case the stat send isnt from 3, but perm live.

Me to  HIN FTW!

Only used the Danfoss RX stuff as they do a 2 channel twin relay receiver which I used to do clever things with WC.

Hate the interface though.
