Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is the normal start up procedure for an Ecotec 838 to do an S.97 check everytime before it fires up the heating ?

It doesn't do this when just using hot water

It seems to be doing the following:

heating mode --> pump overrun --> self test water pressure sensor --> heating mode

Now my thinking is this may well be normal to prevent a dry fire but I am not sure.

I am wondering if I may have a fault

The boiler has 1.6 bar of water pressure, has recently been serviced and had the expansion vessel re-pressurised.

It is heating the house and hot water is working fine.

Many thanks

Jason
