Not sure if this is the right place, but I guess safety equipment is part of ones tool kit 
I'm after suggestions where to try and get some decent safety boots, the problem being that I have very wide feet. Let me put that last bit into context ...
Those of a certain age will remember when Clarks shoe shops had a machine that children could put their foot into and it displayed the size and width on a screen. As I recall, Clarks made a big thing of selling four widths (C, D, E, and F) and the machine had a scale from A to H. I went off the scale
Recently I bought some (ordinary) shoes from an outfit that specialises in wide fittings. I bought the widest they do and still had to get three sizes (that's a whole inch longer) too big in order to get the width I need. Having a good inch of extra length on the end of your shoes it a bit of a nuisance at times. Still, not as bad as one time I went into a local shoe shop and the assistant just didn't listen when I pointed out the width of my feet - she just kept bringing ever longer 'winklepickers' until all I needed was to curl the ends up and I'd have had jesters shoes
With most safety shoes or boots, my toes don't even reach the steel toecap.
In fact, for those that recall, in the Lord of the Rings films, you sometimes see the hobbit's bare feet - that's the sort of shape mine are, hence why I find it difficult to get good footware
So, anyone know where I might get some good really, really, really wide fitting safety boots ? My preference is for ankle length.
Oh yes, and this is mostly for DIY etc, but I occasionally need them for work (mostly cable installation in commercial buildings).
