I have had Sage machine ( in black finish) a long time. Prefer to buy coffee bean that is been roasted recently so purchase needs to be from a roaster rather than super market.

Recently got 1kg bag of wonky coffee- just superb. ( chocolate is great too)

Buying a large bag of bean from Costco or other places is ok but taste wise smaller packages makes coffee appreciate better

Rarely buy coffee to drink on the high street

I tried the fresh stuff Sage sent me. It really didn't do it for me. The perfect roast is there waiting to be discovered but im spending no more trying to find it..

Me too wont buy out anymore. If I where it would be Starbucks.

Dont like chocolaty coffee ☕
.

Found a strong dark fro Sainsbury's that'll keep me happy for a while

Thank you. There is coffee and there is good coffee which is hard to find
Oh the 'Spoons coffee is the good stuff. Starbucks's is never hot enough and Costa's is very weak. Both are about 3x the price of Spoons's.

My point would be that the near on £700 I spent on my Sage has paid its self back in good quality coffee as I no longer often buy coffee out.

Its very hard to find a good coffee out.

Always a safe bet for me has been Double Espresso from McDonald's. 3 years back it was 79p. Now its £1.79.

The only time Ill spend money on coffee out is if its life and death. Literally.

JD'S coffee is shockingly bad.

I buy these ones from Lidl when they have them. When they are out of them, I get the Costa beans, strength 3. I tried a 4 but I’m not man enough yet.

When I’m out, I’ll buy a flat white from Costa.

I blend their 4 and 5 strength..

I quite like the lidl barista crema too - people sell it on eBay for double.

Coffee bean has taste and aroma that depends on multiple variables. Season, elevation, roaster, bean mix ( single or multi source) etc
For humble coffee drinker elevation possibly has the biggest impact.
Abundant harvest is mostly achieved at low elevation ( this is made into instant coffee). High elevation tree yield often 1000m is poor but also refined taste

A while back had Nicaragua bean taste was superb but have not found the same bean since from that region. Bean from India and Kenya has earthy taste, Ethiopian bean is good. Purchased a bag from motorway farm shop ( izar blend) was great taste. From Tesco got a bag of Starbucks bean which had better taste than cup of coffee from the chain ( always disappointed). Thoroughly enjoying wonky bean at the moment

A barista can be extract a fine shot and show his expertise or lack of. In Gloucester over Easter, had a latte- the barista poured image of a rabbit. What skill
