Hello all,
Probably my questions is weirdest you have seen. I have purchased a house last month and moved in. In this house we have a Baxi combi central heating. And I was given a Salus RT500RF Thermostat to control the heating. Now I want to replace this setup with Nest or hive and all my reading shows that there is a receiver fitted which receives commands from Wireless unit we have. I have asked questions to pr3vious owner and estate agent but I have not received an answer which tells me where this receiver is fitted. I have searched the whole house upside down but cannot locate this receiver which in my understand has a blue light or some kind of indication. All I can see is the combi boiler and power switch for it. I was wondering if someone can tell me on how to find this r3ceiever which can be replaced with my new Smart Nest or Hive system. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am an IT guy and can do very little DIY but before calling someone to help me fit the kit I would like to find the location of receiver. Thank you for your help in advance.

There will be a cable coming out of the boiler to the receiver just follow it

Hi Ian,
Thank you for your response. I followed the cable. It goes behind kitchen units. I have opened all the kitchen storage doors and check in them too. But no luck.

This is a short video so that you know what you are looking for.

can you post a pic of where the elecric cables enter the boiler from underneath and the fused spur that feeds the boiler

That white cable looks like the mains supply to the boiler. The switch being the fused switch for the supply.

I have seen some crazy wiring of these stats and similar, It could be that the receiver is just wired to the boiler wiring and tucked inside the casing of the boiler, wouldnt be the first

Also, look behind the kickboards below the kitchen base units... And on top of the wall units.
