Sand Blinding

Hi Guys,

What exactly is 'Blinding Sand', i know it goes on top of my hardcore but is it a specific type of sand or is it just building sand ???

No, it's just building sand; laid on top of the hardcore purely to stop it puncturing the membrane.

Welcome, but seeing as you're trying to learn the lingo, we normally call it sand blinding rather than blinding sand.

It's also for filling in the voids in the hardcore, so that when it's compacted it makes the whole foundation/sub-base much stronger and more stable.
