sanding and finishing parquet

iv recently done my house out with reclaimed parquet which i thought would be a nightmare but was actually quite straightforward when i got goin.
its now down and looks rather old and grubby but i know the sander will sort that out just not sure which is the best way to finsh it as i tryed a sample with clear oil and looks abit naff, am im best off putting an light oak stain on then varning or any one got better solution thanks

What wood-species is your reclaimed parquet?
If Oak you can use various coloured HardWaxOil's can give you a fine result if you don't like how it turns out with a natural one.

Tropical woods are best treated with Euku Oil1, followed with Leha StepStop wax-polish for the wear and tear layer.

As for using a trio sander on wood blocks from a reclaimed source: if there are height differences the Trio won't tackle this as well as a belt-sander (start with grit 60 or 80 to see if that works, if not switch to grit 40).
Trio sanders or multidisks are more suitable for the "finishing" sanding round: for an oil finish don't go higher than grit 100 with this machine (belt-sander, not higher than grit 120)
