We had a new roof and extension 8 years ago, and wienerberger sent us these roof clips to fit on the verge. They have caused a terrible mess. The rainwater is redirected by the clips to the side , under the cement board and under the fascia. Moss is growing around the clips. Where there are no clips the verge is fine. Has anyone come across this happening? Is there a cost effective fix?

I doubt the clips alone are causing that? Is it not just a lot of run off from the dormer side/upper roof and the pitch being low causing it to overspill the verge?

Hi, the downpipe of the dormer is 1m away from the edge, and it does not drain to the edge. The verge tile is also slanting towards the middle of the roof, not the edge. These verge clips are acting like small barriers, directing the water to the edge. Have you seen this before? We were told by Wienerberger we needed to use them in combination with their sandtoft20/20. their "new innovated v"verge and tail clip is installed vertically. They must have realised that there is an issue with the horizontal installation.

Terrible?

It's a roof that gets rained on shoite on and everything that nature can throw at it. It's going to get filthy dirty and mossy.

Would you rather have verge tiles that can be removed in a storm and an even dirtier repair job or some inoffensive SS clips?

unfortunately the water is not staying on the roof, it drains the wrong way to the side, under the fibre cement boards, under the upvc fascia, to the wooden rafters. i very much mind that. It will be rotting my rafters.
