Hi
I had a scaffold erected by an established scaffolding firm around a new house. The scaffolding is partly on a public highway ( pavement ) and we have a permit for this.
The scaffold was erected for the roughcaster. I think that he has being altering it as he goes. Today an HSE Inspector arrived and is not happy with the scaffolding. At this stage I am not sure exactly what he is unhappy about.
I contracted the scaffolding company and also the roughcaster i.e. it is me who is paying their bills.
I have public liability issurance for the construction of the new house.
Am I legally responsible for the scaffolding and will it be me who will receive a letter from the HSE Inspector ?
many thanks.
