Scantronic 9651 adding remote keypad

I have existing working Scantronic 9651 alarm. I wish to add a second remote keypad. As soon as I connect the second pad it makes rapid clicking noise and led's on rear flash. System is then locked. Both pads are 9941 and are correctly addressed. Both pads are wired correctly using 4c cable and are wired in parallel. Can anyone help please!

How are you adding them? With the system powered down, then re applying power?

What happens if you swap the keypads around? Does the fault stay with the location, or the move with the keypads?

Hi guys, thanks for replies. I was following the procedures re power down, and both keypads were the same model and new. Guess what... The cable linking the 2 pads was installed by someone else, I had told them to install 8c cable, as I am using only 4c I decided it would be worth changing over all 4 cores. Powered up - everything perfect!!
I guess there is a lesson there - my fault for taking someone elses work for granted.
