Hope someone will be able to help? The 9825 is a remote keypad where the keys are playing up! How do you gain access to the inside so I can take a look inside or unwire it for possible replacement with another one?
There is no obvious means of getting inside and I don't want to damage it!

The screw , you undo it.

Then it will all go off and cheese off your neighbors. If your really lucky and it has Police response you might get beaten up in your own abode.

Or pay someone to fix it.

keep an eye out on ebay for one of these/ Item number: 290646259655 the newer 9800 plus keypad will work with your 9800 but still fetching good money due to the old 9800 problems, but at this price your halfway towards a new panel.

Can you change your code so that you are using fresh buttons?

9800 problems ?
Want to tell us and Cooper about this?

Alarm - thanks for your reply but!!

The keypad has no visible screws on it!! I assumed it is levered off in some way?

as you look at the keypad,

keep the cover flat closed,
place small terminal screwdriver beween the base and the keypad
not the wall, the space between the keypad and the base!
lever the keypad off, slowly!!

there you have it,

remove connections, (noting were they go) dont short them out against each other!

undo the screws on the PCB
remove the PCB
clean the black contacts on the PCB, (with suitable switch cleaner)
clean the pads on the membrain

put it all back together

it SHOULD work ok, but there are no prizes if it don`t!!!

Thanks for your post. Stripped it down, cleaned it, now working without problem! For others removing the circuit board - remove the 2 phillips screws and the terminal connection screws before removing board from the casing.
Oasis - thanks again and have a happy new year.
