School uniforms good or bad?

Practice what you preach. I had a Ford. Excellent cars.

Never liked Mercs so both your sentences are true.

Next.

I have a ford.

I actually think Chavs are highly label driven. Perhaps its the TOWIE effect.

Ive never understood the reason for buying a Tommy Hilfiger T shirt for £40, that has the brand in great big lettering. Its like saying 'buy this overpriced T shirt and give us free advertising too'.

You could bring up your kids to realise - you could even promote it - that it was better to save 100 quid rather than spend that much extra for a pointless brand name.

Explain to them what being ripped off is.
Absolutely, however, can only talk to your own kid and explain the value of money. Can't educate the school bully to think the same, sadly.

I note the local catholic school has very smart uniform, however all parents have the option, they don't have to send children to a faith school so they can require expensive uniforms. But it also labels them as catholic not sure this is a good idea, it could make them a target.

Cost of uniform can be debated, I know my grand daughters have school badges which my daughter has embroidered onto their cloths and has not bought them from local shop, however the sewing machine required to embroider these cost well over £1000 so not some thing every mother could do.

Requiring grey trousers, white shirt, black shoes, grey socks and a brown blazer is I suppose OK, however as soon as that becomes a blazer from local high street store with a badge on it, then that over steps the mark. I remember one guy at school had an odd tie, he say it was from Dorchester Dayschool however sure really double diamond beer. But secondary school colours were same where I lived to grammar school colours where I went on holiday so would wear part of school uniform on holiday.

Kings school and Queens school (latter for girls not odd boys) in Chester having a Uniform to me is no problem, it does not identify faith all it says is my parents have money, and can afford to give me a private education. Ysgol Glanrafon school uniform I suppose shows the shop keepers what language they can use, if wearing that then they will speak Welsh, but all it would need is a school tie, it does not have to be anything more.

You could then tell the 'poor kids', as they tend to wear clothes a size or two too big in order to get more use out of it!

Fantastic way to help the environment as well as getting your money's worth.

Uniforms are good, it helps with equality. With no uniforms here will be a much more obvious divide between rich and poor.

Your pal lal doesn't think so but why would he ask you to provide evidence as long as you're #FBPE

Sorry, I really didn't understand that question. What does FBPE mean? And I can't see a question directed to me about what I said?

Still makes no sense to me! What was i asked? And follow beck Pro europe, please explain what you're on about

In my youth, that was classed as a successful weekend!

While it wasn't the case, it's just something noseall likes to think as a means to cover up how dense he is, I'm also at a guess, half his age; successful in either case I think.

As for @jonbey, I was pointing out how Lal insisted someone else post evidence of how uniforms are good but didn't apply the same rule to him as he and Lal are both Pro-Europe, (that's what we like to call a double standard @noseall , save you getting your thesaurus out).

If noseall wasn't so dense he might have told Jonbey that but as I said, he needed to have a dig at me to cover up that he didn't even realise that's what I was getting at.

Actually, I was trying to lighten the mood coz getting tired of all the insults back and fourth.... :-)
