Obviously due to lifting things incorrectly I'm totally flat on me back with this dreadful affliction  Its due to a spinal disc having moved slightly out of position and trapping the large sciatic nerve that runs from the spine to the foot, down the back of the leg. I've never known pain like it - so do think before you overdo the lifting, good people!
John :(

Had that delivering a safe once, 3 weeks on my back.
Now I have them delivered and fitted, not worth the risk anymore.

Get well soon, and yes a good osteo will help. Mine cost me £80 and one visit later was almost as good as new.

BM, you have all my sympathy.... I've had two ops on my discs, the bottom one was removed totally and a discectomy on the one above not even Morphine dulled the pain much....

A warning to everyone..... If you lose feeling in your legs or feet, take yourself off to A&E immediatly... I didn't and because of this it was touch and go if I would ever get feeling back, fortunately I did though my days of dancing at the Bolshoi are over..

It's not the disc moving (that's very serious) but herniating. They take a while to get better too.

Ice it regularly. NSAID's from the doc's. Stay mobile. That pain is bad I know. Instant tourettes LOL. See a physio. For what its worth proper rehab will get you better. :D

Even more important if you have trouble peein or poohin A&E instant.

Yeah I didn't want to go that far...... Basically when I was admitted the doctor at my hospital told the surgeon at Salford Royal that I was incontinent, the result was rushed to Salford in an ambulance and operated on at 3am Trying to ring customers who were expecting me whilst still drowsy the next morning was quite entertaining though one dopey tart did complain that cancelling her boiler service at such short notice was carp service and she would never use me again......Did I have the number of another gas fitter?

my wife has the dreadful complaint too along with a prolapsed disc, been like it over 12 months now, been to doc's, pysiotherapy, hospital, on more tablets than she knows what to do with, now been refered to hospital for surgery
25 years of riding and working with horses!
really feel for her as the pain is constant and unbearable
