good afternoon

I have installed a 25mm MDPE to 15mm copper connector, but it leaks on the MDPE side, tried replacing and same again.

Did some research and found that the MDPE has to be in good condition, unfortunately this was installed by a ground worker, who pull it through a concrete hole and scored the pipe the full length that's available inside the building, the rest is covered in a trench.

Does anyone have any tips for smoothing/repairing the MDPE ? I've read about using a knife blade to smooth out, will try this tonight, but anything else, can I wrap the pipe ? I really don't want to start digging it up outside if I can help it...

thanks

What fitting did you use and did you use an insert

SIMPLE!!!

Use a compression brass fitting WITH an insert the olive will nip into the plastic sealing the scratches

thanks all, I used a Wickes compression type fitting first, then speedfit next, I will try using a Stanley knife blade, then PTFE, then brass compression, it's not a major leak so I'm sure one of these will fix it for me.

sorry insert used too, nice clean square cut, just them grooves

Of course I always protect the pipe so never had that problem.

But have always thought I would repair with fine emery paper
