Screwfix JG speed fit question

I reckon someones been clarting on with that one.....
Mind you, I dont recall the inserts having an internal taper though :eek:

The tap connector in your original ,first picture ,does not show anything inside it ? I assume you have two ,one for each tap. Compare them please.
 
You are correct.
There is something in one but not the other.
I am unable to remove it though.
It’s well in there.

Will swap it over tomorrow.

Yep, it's another insert from a previous try, need a pair of long nosed pliers and wiggle it out the fitting with the release ring pushed down. That being said you'd probably be fine using it. When the pipe's pushed fully home into the fitting the insert is then inside the pipe doing the job it needs to.
 
I wouldn't try to re use it . If it was in there when the fitting was purchased ,then there is a question mark over its integrity. Just buy a new one.
