Very simple question for you plumbing experts, but what and where, can I get the best type of 'white sealant' for around my bath. I have seen many types in DIY shops, but somebody has told me to buy 'a good quality' sealant, ie, one that stinks. What should I look for ?

I have used Wickes non-stinking type, I cannot find anything wrong with it. Most people have problems with sealants and glues because they don't prepare the surfaces properly. You can have the worlds most fantastic sealant, dirty fingers on the surface as you wipe the last bit of debris away, and you might as well pack up.

The "best" types are the polyurethanes, used mostly in the automotive world. They are used for gluing bodywork panels together.

This means it contains a fungicide

i would say most are good qaulity, EXCEPT own brand, and as has been mentioned clean surfaces first, and if doing bath, fill it with water first
