Sealing a RC - BSPT connection - PTFE enough?

Hi,
The expansion vessel i bought as a RC 1/2" connector to fit into a BSPT 1/2" connector.
Is PTFE tape enough to seal the connection or should i use an O-ring /washer

why not use a 1/2"" tap connector and washer
